Daddy and Me

Daddy and Me, originally uploaded by haechoo.

A good father is one of the most unsung, unpraised, unnoticed, and yet one of the most valuable assets in our society.

Tiny Fingers

Tiny Fingers, originally uploaded by haechoo.

Ten fingers, Ten toes
He's laughter and teardrops
So small and brand new
And amazingly angelic
He's sent to bless you
He's one special Baby
The best of life's treasure
And will grant and bless you
Many hours of great pleasure.

All It Takes is a Little Something...

A sweet.
A smile.
A hug.
A little love from you...

All it takes is a little something to make a child feel appreciated.

Life in the Paddy Fields
Life in the Paddy Fields, originally uploaded by haechoo.

Whatever they grow up to be, they are still our children, and the one most important of all the things we can give to them is unconditional love. Not a love that depends on anything at all except that they are our children.

St Joseph's Cathedral

St Joseph's Cathedral, originally uploaded by haechoo.

Tried to photograph this majestic church in a different way. Overexposed the highlights. Vietnamese masses are very melodic and just being there amongst the Vietnamese during mass gave me little goosebumps. But the interesting thing is that there is gender segregation whereby the guys sit on the left and the ladies sit on the right. How strange but fascinating. :)

After mass, met this sweet little girl and her brother and mom outside the church. She was really shy when I tried to take a shot of her. Her mom had to coax her into position before I managed to get a beautiful shot of her (below). Too bad I did not get their contacts to send her picture over.

Drool

Drool, originally uploaded by haechoo.

If you were to open up a baby's head - and I am not for a moment suggesting that you should - you would find nothing but an enormous drool gland.

Mutual Joys

Mutual Joys, originally uploaded by haechoo.

Ten tiny little fingers that always want to play,
That never stop exploring the wonder of today.
Ten tiny little fingers that from the very start,
Will reach out for tomorrow yet always hold your heart.

Pent-up Emotions

Betrayal?, originally uploaded by haechoo.

There are moments in life,
when the heart is so full of emotion
That if by chance it be shaken,
or into its depths like a pebble
Drops some careless word, it overflows, and its secret,
Spilt on the ground like water, can never be gathered together.

Transitions

IMG_4147, originally uploaded by haechoo.

Remember the last time you first rode your three-wheel drive? The pride and excitement of owning your very own "vehicle". And not long after, the sweet yearning of owning a two-wheel drive. One that marks progression; of growing up. The sweet innonence of childhood, the pure joy and excitement transitions bring. However as we grow older, transitions do not seem to bring the same kind of excitement, but that of sluggish feet and tired expressions. Hitting at big 2-0 and beyond dampens the youthful eagerness we all once possessed. Growing up seems to entail the possession of "freedom" and material wealth, but the loss of the treasured youthful joy and care-free-ness children possess. With responsibilities comes worries, and worries "kill" the innocent child who just wants to stay young. No wonder everybody wants to be young again.
